Live Blog | Sex And The City S6E5 through S6E8

(note: I do not condone the immorality in the show, nor immorality in general.)

Season 6, Episode 5, "Lights, Camera, Relationship": Carrie gets a big check for her book, which upsets Berger (so he's pretty much jealous) because his book deal fell through (because his book probably wreaked). Miranda helps Steve bake cupcakes for his new girlfriend, Debbie. Charlotte is reluctant to start dating now that Harry is out of the picture, but the Jewish mothers and grandmothers keep pushing men at her, and she doesn't want to be rude, so she accepts to meet them. She goes to a single's gathering and sees Harry, they talk and she asks if it's okay if he can maybe call her sometimes, and he gets down on one knee and proposes to her. Samantha takes over the PR for Jerry's struggling (disgusting) play.

Season 6, Episode 6, "Hop, Skip, and a Week": Carrie and Berger are having some problems, and he decides he wants to take a break from their relationship for a week as he goes out of town, to her great dismay. Miranda has to cut hours at work so that she can spend more time with Brady, as she already has a nanny for him and barely gets to spend time with him anymore as she comes home so late; she has showed up late to the office 3 times and they are being hard on her, but she reminds them that when her mother died, she was back in the office on Monday. Women from the synagogue keep trying to hook Charlotte up with their sons or grandsons, and she's reluctant to date as she's still in love with Harry. Samantha tells Jerry that he needs to change his name, because "Jerry Jarrod" is no name for a star. She changes his name to Jerry Smith, and gets him on a billboard in time square as a perfume poster model, the ad is disgusting.

Season 6, Episode 7, "The Post-It Always Sticks Twice": After Berger breaks up with Carrie (on a post-it note, she's very upset; Charlotte tries to reassure Carrie that "everything happens for a reason". She tries to get over it by partying it up, and she goes to a club opening at a place called "Bed" with her friends. Miranda doesn't want to go at first because she's not feeling so great, until she tried on her old skinny jeans... She tries them on, and is surprised when she fits in them, and acts inappropriately throughout the entire night. She gets pushed onto a bed next to some guy, and ends up having a slightly racy conversation with him; and when they go to "bed", Carrie sees some of Berger's friends, and decides to go talk to them and act casual, but instead she ends up taking out her confusion and frustration by yelling at them about how breaking up on a post-it is NOT acceptable, and how men should just do the right thing and have the "uncomfortable breakup talk". The girls get some weed at a bar, and Samantha almost gets into a fight with a ghetto chick: the chick's man tries to hit on her and she basically tells him to get bent, but when she's watching Jerry on TV, and he says he's not seeing anyone special, she feels hurt, even though she told him to say that, so she says what the hell and kisses the guy that was hitting on her, his girlfriend sees and gets pissed, and she and friends are about to beat her up. Carrie ends up getting a ticket for smoking weed in public. The girls call it a night and get ice cream and have girl talk. More "it happens for a reason" talk ensues.

Season 6, Episode 8, "The Catch": Carrie tries out a trapeze for an article piece and chickens out when it's time to do a "catch". Charlotte and Harry take photos in Central Park for the New York Times. Miranda thinks the shirt Debbie got for Brady (her baby) is tacky. Steve gives Miranda a candle that Debbie bought for her for "Serenity and Calm". Jerry is heading to Mexico for a week, and although Samantha is fine with that, she ends up struggling without him around as she got so used to his help. The girls go out to lunch and Harry drops by and tries to hook up Carrie with one of his friends, Howie. Charlotte's picture is accepted into the New York Times, Steve and Debbie drop by Miranda's house and she stoops to hiding under the bed to avoid them. The girls go to Charlotte's rehearsal dinner. Carrie runs into Harry's friend at the rehearsal dinner, and they end up hooking up (or in his eyes: "making love". She relates it to "Jack Rabbit sex".) Carrie ended up with a sore neck. Charlotte sees her picture in the paper, and she has an ink stain above her lip which makes it look like she has a "hitler moustache". Carrie and Harry's friend have a conversation, and she says she thought the hook-up was just a one-time thing, just for fun, and he gets upset and says if he'd have known she was just using him, he wouldn't have "made love" to her like that. Charlotte's wedding is nearly a disaster, but Carrie cheers her up and makes her realize that her high standards for the wedding were making her miss the whole event because she was spending more time focusing on materialistic things instead of the actual experience. First, Harry spills the wedding wine on Charlotte's dress, then Samantha's bracelet breaks on the small stage, Harry has a hard time breaking the glass, and then Charlotte nearly slips on the beads from Samantha's broken bracelet. Harry's friend calls Carrie out in a wedding toast. Miranda is giving a speech for Charlotte, and the paper catches fire. Charlotte and Harry are carried around in the chairs and she is scared at first, until Harry reassures her: "what's the worst that could happen? You'll end up living happily ever after?" (He says because she told him what Carrie said about 'maybe the worse the wedding, the better the marriage', so they keep referencing it as an inside joke.) Charlotte throws the bouquet, and it hits Miranda.
